Synth and Metal Folk!
I wrote it first on accoustic guitar in a traditional folk style but double tracked it using the Electro-accoustic and electric guitars and then did a keyboard version. I was at a stage of playing all the instruments myself - the little band musicians I had around me had their separate ways. I played bass guitar and multi tracked the keyboards on the synth version although the bass is low in the mix.

I can imagine on the folk demo, a strong voice like Alison Moyet singing over the top of this! Trev my mate, you will have to find a female singer to sing your words to it, and then let me hear it then.
On the Metal folk, which is a strange tittle my friend!....To me, I can hear a lot of women doing sought of celtic folk, of what the guitar is playing, like all around my hat! Can't remember what the song was called......Peace...Mojo.
These are not proper titles Mojo - just working labels. I did these pieces in the early 90's when the kids were babies - so never finished them - fatherhood claimed my attention I think. Hence no title or words.
Yes both pieces are variations of the same song. It did indeed start as a trad folk piece - I found a trad folk tabulature book in the library - songs like High Barbury and worked worked something from those influences - first wondering how it would sound electrified and then experimenting with the piece on the keyboards. Maybe I can redevelop them when I've got the Hobo site more complete and get a bit of spare time. Alyson Moyet - yes I guess - I used to listen to her a lot in the late 80's- I'd just bought a new keyboard at the time so was exerimenting with all the new sounds on it.
Thanks for the feedback Mojo - stay cool.
